The focus of my research is to evaluate the effects of climate change on alpine lakes and to improve techniques used to interpret such changes. Understanding the response of high-elevation freshwater systems to climate fluctuations is critical for interpreting past environments, predicting the abundance of freshwater resources in the near-future, and learning to adapt to a changing planet to sustain vital water supplies.
"Anything else you are interested in is not going to happen if you can't breathe the air and drink the water. Don't sit this one out. Do something. You are by accident of faith alive at an absolute critical moment in the history of our planet."
